When running into problems with an Apple mouse the most common mouse type which has problems due to dirty and cleaning needs is a mouse known as the Apple Mighty Mouse. The Apple Mighty Mouse is a mouse which instead of moving the mouse around on its own like most mouses you have a small scroll ball in the front of the mouse which controls the mouse icon on your computer screen to click on buttons and make one click and double click commands on your apple computer. Being that the mouse functions through the scroll ball, when the mouse becomes dirty the scroll ball may stop working causing the functionality of your whole mouse itself not to work which is why we have this article to help teach you how to clean your Apple mouse.

Scroll Ball And Pressurized Air

Scroll balls on the Apple Mighty Mouse is well known for being easy to collect small particles inside the mouse around the ball where it is near impossible to clean. Since you cannot just reach between the ball and the mouse inside you have to find something which can push out the materials for you. One thing you can do is get a pressurized air can with a long small tube which can push pressurized air in and around the ball and push the particles back out of the mouse through the other side of the ball or out of opposing ends.

Cloth Wiping

If the mouse is simply infected with external dirt and grime from regular handling you can simply wipe down your mouse with a very mildly damp material. You can wet down a cloth and ring this cloth out very well for excess liquid and scrub down your mouse and ball. The reason you must make sure your cloth is not too wet is because if any access liquid gets in through the cracks and crevices of the mouse you risk breaking your mouse all together so you must be very careful.

Last Option Solution Take It Apart

If the dirt and grime has gotten deep inside your mouse and the only way to make it work is to get inside your mouse and clean it than you will have to do just that. But how do you get into your mouse?

First you must remove the batteries from inside the mouse after turning the mouse off by the on off switch. Next you will have to cut under the ring which goes around the outside of the base of the mouse with a small knife. Do not worry about cutting this ring it can simply be super glued back on and cut again later if needed. After cutting the ring their should be an open gap all around the outside of the mouse, in the front of the gaps their will be two parts which you will need to move to allow the mouse to fully pop open. Once you do that you can clean infected areas inside your mouse than place everything back together.

High Definition TVs offer breathtaking images. They make your movies pop and can be spectacularly vivid, unless it’s marred by that annoying smudge, hand print or dirt right smack in the middle of the screen. Regardless if it’s the tiniest fingerprint or the larges smudge, it blocks your viewing pleasure like a splattered bug on your car windshield.

How do you get rid of that dang obstruction? Window cleaner is definitely out of the question. High Def TVs aren’t like the boob tubes of the past. Those suckers could take any toxic cleaning solution imaginable. Your HDTV’s special screen needs tender loving care. It’s not just any piece of furniture, so clean your HDTV carefully. A couple of no-no’s are strong chemicals and elbow grease. Strong chemicals can leave irregular spots, scratches or smudges, and defeats the purpose of cleaning. Rough handling can cause permanent damage.

Dusting your screen is as easy as swiping a smooth cloth or soft dust mop onto the surface. Gently glide it across the screen to prevent any scratches. For bothersome spots, open your wallet and buy cleaners specifically made for your High Def TV screen. These specialized cleaners are usually packed in a kit and comes with the cleaning solution and cloth. You can justify the expense because these cleaners were made specifically for maintaining your TVs. Luckily, High Def TVs are made with anti-static surfaces so minimal cleaning is the way to go. There’s less dusting which means less contact with the screen itself. Another great source for cleaning tricks is your High Def TV’s manual. Your manufacturer wants to make sure you enjoy your baby as much as possible. Therefore, they have the most appropriate solutions to keeping it pristine.

To prevent any future cleanings to your HDTV, try these preventive methods. Fingerprints, of course, are your TV’s nemesis. There’s no need to touch the screen, so keep grown up or kiddy fingers away. Pets are not your TV’s BFF so keep them at bay as well. Unfortunately if the screen gets scratched, there’s nothing you can do to fix it. Minor scratches may stick out when the TV is off, but are hardly noticeable when on. Larger scratches are another matter. Those will always be there regardless. The key to keeping your High Def TV clean is defense! Channel your inner defensive linebacker and keep those potential smudges and scratches at bay.

The one most effective way to clean a UV filter is to avoid getting it dirty, therefore never having to clean it. But, barring the drops of a gentle rain, a lovely scented flea dip, or a wood fiber nasal tissue, drenched with your desperate saliva, which are not effective, you should never let your skin or anyone else’s reach the filter. Don’t ever drop it in a gooey or otherwise sticky substance and don’t let your dog leave his nose and tongue print all over it. Why do dogs do that anyway? Given that during the life of the filter at least one of these events are going to occur, here are some manners of effective cleansing.

Lens Pen and Cannon Cleaning Solution

A great method is to use a lens pen with a Canon cleaning solution. A good lens pen can be had for an average of ten American dollars, if purchased at online camera shops. If paying more for supplies is what you desire and you have spare time on your hands, you might head on down to the local camera shop, where you will be greeted by a long-haired man who calls every customer, “Captain,” is a face talking mouth breather and has the breath of a thousand llama’s. He is eager to help, however, personal hygiene not withstanding. “You simply spin those imperfections to nothingness,” are Carl’s instructions. They are ALL named, after all.

Zeiss Cleaning Cloths

Try out Zeiss cleaning cloths, which you can find at your local market or a Wal-Mart. I’ve also found them at Amazon.com and other online photography stores at very affordable prices, ready to ship to your home or portrait pleasure palace.

Lens Cleaning Packets

You can use lens cleaning packets and get them from local drug store joints. I don’t know how to feel about this. Should I cruise over to Wal-Mart and fetch the cleaning packets, a couple of items from the, “Embarrassing Merchandise Department” and be done with it!

My Very Own Personal Method

Personally, I use a special cleaning cloth for which I am constantly going over visually to ensure cleanliness. I keep it folded up in a plastic case inside my camera case. Simply choose your method, secure the supplies and you should have no problem cleaning your UV filter.

So many times I have sat here and looked at this laptop screen to see finger prints, smudges, and random debris from who knows what. Each time I shut down my computer after a couple weeks I start to wonder how did I get this screen so dirty! Eventually it starts to bug me and I need to clean it before I strain my eyes to see through the dirty surface to what lies beneath on that black screen. There are may ways to clean an LCD screen, either you can spend money on a special cleaner you can get at almost any computer or technology store, or you can go a little more natural and use rubbing alcohol or even some distilled alcohol like Vodka.

Each way of cleaning the screen is fairly easy, the LCD screens are fairly sensitive and you DO NOT want to clean it with your normal household Windex, I tried and boy that didn’t work well, bad idea! But one day I searched the internet for a solution to the problem, and I was able to find a few different ways to clean the screen easily.

Now the first method is simply a cleaner you buy made for LCD screens, you do not really want to put anything directly onto the screen and also make sure to leave the screen off overnight before you clean it to make sure it is cooled down before cleaning. Make sure you get a soft cloth as well I simply use a clean wash cloth, 100 percent cotton usually works about best. First you’ll want to dust the screen and then what you do is take the cleaner and spray it onto the wash cloth and then when you go to clean the screen small circles are best to clean away the smudges and prints, it will air dry and if you need to a light dusting afterward to keep it spot free.

Second Method is Rubbing alcohol, the same cleaning method applies as the first method. Put the alcohol onto the wash cloth and small circles to clean the screen to a nice shine.

And finally my personal favorite is Vodka, straight vodka will do best, no flavored kinds. Again same as method one put it onto the wash cloth and small circles to clean, after you finish you will see everything in a whole new light!

It’s happens to the best photographers, a “dirty camera lens”. A camera lens is as delicate as the human eye when it comes to handling. And, they are just as affected by dust, dirt, humidity and scratches. So, it’s pretty important to treat a camera lens as you would your own pair of eyes. Which, when you think about it, for taking photos, is what a camera lens really is. Here are 3 simple ways to clean a camera lens:

1. Use a pre-treated lens cleaning cloth
2. Gently swipe with a soft dry cloth to remove dust
3. Spray a cloth with lens cleaner and wipe carefully (Don’t saturate the cloth.)

Camera Lenses Can Be Dirt Magnets

Depending on the debris that has collected on the lens, use a gentle pressure when cleaning. The surface of camera lenses are fragile and scratch easily. But, they are also affected by moisture. Never spray lens cleaner directly onto the lens of a camera. Nor, should moisture be allowed to collect on the lens surface. Most camera lenses are not waterproof. That’s important to remember when taking photos in levels of high humidity. Lens glass is not tempered to withstand extremes of temperature either. So avoid, extreme cold or heat to protect your camera lenses. Camera bags provide a good means of protection.

Learn How to Clean A Camera Lens

Before taking photos, check the camera lens to insure that the view is as clear as possible. A lot of photographers like to make a habit of gently wiping their camera lens before and after a photo session. Learning how to clean a camera lens should be a regular part of the photography experience. There isn’t really a lot to learn about how to clean a camera lens. Keeping a camera lens clean just makes sense. The more the camera is used, the more cleaning may become necessary. If the lens should collect a serious type of debris that can’t be removed with any of the three steps provided, it should be taken to a professional camera shop. There, professionals will remove the offending dirt from the lens. Often, tiny bits of debris lodge in sections of the lens that can’t be reached with a cotton swap or cloth. This is another instance when it’s advisable to take advantage of professional care.

A plasma screen television is a big investment. To keep it looking its best and for optimum performance, you’ll want to keep it clean and free of dust and other kinds of soil.

The first step is to check the owner’s manual to make sure that any products you use are not harmful to your screen. Certain products might damage the anti-glare coating, so it’s very important you use the kind of cleaners called for by the manufacturer. Many offer kits that contain special cleaning solution suitable for cleaning plasma screens as well as special cleaning cloths that will not scratch or leave lint.

To be on the safe side, begin by turning off and unplugging the set. This might be overkill, but better that than damage your expensive tv!

Remove Dust

Begin by removing any dust that has accumulated on or around the screen. A can of compressed air works beautifully for this. If you do not have any, you can also use a dry, clean (preferably new) microfiber cloth or other soft lint free cloth.

Use Special Cleaning Solution

If dirt and fingerprints remain on the screen, use a manufacturer approved cleansing solution lightly sprayed on a soft, lint free cloth and gently rub clean. Do not press hard or use anything scratchy, as this could leave marks on your screen. Household cleaners should be avoided unless specifically called for by the maker of your plasma tv. In a pinch, you could use a lightly dampened cloth to clean these areas, but it’s worth the investment to purchase one of the cleaning kits recommended by the manufacturer.

Clean the Vents

The vents of your plasma tv need to remain clear so that heat can dissipate from the inside. The easiest way to do this is use the hose attachment of your vacuum cleaner and suck out the dust using the lowest setting, like you would the back of your computer.

You should clean your plasma screen at least once a week to ensure the clearest picture. A plasma tv is a very expensive so treat it with care!

As we all know we love our iPhones and their wonderful touch screens, but what you probably don’t love are the fingerprints and smudging that come with the territory. So if you have begun to wonder how to make your iPhone screen sparkle like new look no further.

First let’s start with the kitchen sink; all you need to clean your iPhone screen is water and a soft cloth. Any soft micro fiber cloth should do the trick, but it is recommended that you use the micro fiber cloth that came with your iPhone or you can purchase one at iPhone accessory retailers. Now to actually clean the touch screen you need to moisten the cloth with water. Do not over saturate the cloth because too much water can damage your phone. Wipe the touch screen gently and carefully to remove all the smudges and fingerprints. Your phone should now be smudge free. You can repeat the process as necessary.

Sitting at your desk and no cloth or water handy? Well here’s a cleaning tip that might be worth a shot. Tape! Yes that handy tape sitting on your desk might just do the trick, it apparently doesn’t just work on CSI; it removes fingerprints on iPhones too! Take a small piece of tape and place it across your touch screen, peel away and voila you have taken those pesky old fingerprints with it, continue down the length of the screen and it should be as good as new.

Now if the above aren’t working to your liking, there are various commercial cleaners marketed for cleaning iPhone screens, such as iKlear. iKlear is free of any harsh chemicals such as ammonia and alcohol and is also anti-static. It also comes with a handy micro fiber cloth and cost around $20. It is available through Apple and iPhone retailers.

Remember; never use any chemicals on your iphone touch screen. Using harsh chemicals can result in damaging the look and function of your touch screen. Sticking with the basics are the safest and most effective way to keep you iPhone looking and performing like new.

Since the early 1900s, vinyl records have been a revolutionary way to listen to music. Many families used the phonograph and records as a way of spending a quiet evening at home with each other. However, records are slowly disappearing due to the high demand of digital music as oppose to analog records. As a result, there haven’t been a lot of manuals on cleaning records. Therefore, a record collector will have a very hard time in finding the necessary tools to prevent a record from accumulating dust. Fortunately, this guide will help record collectors preserve their treasures by using these three methods.

Solution Kits for Records

If a CD solution kit exists, then a record solution kit exists as well. Although very few stores carry record solution kits, it is possible to buy them over the Internet. Once a record solution kit arrives in the mail, follow the simple instructions and use a brush specifically for records. Using another brush will damage the record, so it is important to know which brushes will be safe to use on records. After cleaning, store all records in a safe place to prevent accidents and record breaking.

Soap and Water Trick

This is a common way for record collectors to wash their records and this is a budget friendly method for families on a tight budget. Although this method will clean records, it is important for a record collector to not wet the label as doing so may devalue the record. Do not overuse on soap as it will make the record slippery and hard to handle. Once this method is done, air dry and put the record in a safe place.

Cloths are Cool

The final method is very easy and only involves a cloth. This is a very fast and very time friendly way to clean a record. Just use a dry cloth or wet the cloth a little bit and wipe the dust away. Within minutes, records will look brand new like they just came out of the record store.

Overall, these methods are the best choices because records need a lot of tender, love, and care. Furthermore, records are no longer sold in stores and the value of the record is increasing every day. By following these methods, record collectors will rejoice to the brand new and super clean record collection.

If dust and smudges are making it difficult to get work done on your laptop because you can’t see the screen, it is definitely time for a good cleaning. Thankfully, cleaning a laptop screen is a simple task that can be accomplished safely using a multitude of techniques.

At Home Products

When cleaning a laptop screen, it is important to use clean cloth made from 100% cotton and a gentle cleaning solution. An old T-shirt works great. Just make sure your cloth is 100% cotton and not a cotton/polyester blend, which can scratch an LCD screen. Never use tissues or paper towels. They contain fibers that can wreak havoc on a delicate laptop screen. Never wipe the screen with a dry cloth because even tiny dust particles can cause fine scratches. The most effective cleaning solution is a mixture of 50% distilled water and 50% isopropyl alcohol. Simply spray or pour a small amount on your cloth then gently wipe your screen clean using a circular motion. For lightly soiled screens, a 50/50 solution of distilled water and white vinegar is also effective.

Store Bought Products

Most household cleaners, such as glass cleaner, should not be used on laptops. Many of these products contain ammonia and other chemicals that can cause irreparable damage to LCD screens. If you are going to use a store bought cleaning product, always be sure to read the bottle to make certain it is safe to use specifically on laptops. Remember to never spray a product directly on the screen.

If you would rather not use a cleaning liquid of any sort on your laptop, you can also buy an anti-static cloth. These cloths are specially made to be safe on delicate screens and can be used without any cleaning solution because they do not attract dust particles. They can be purchased at most computer or office supply stores.
