The main objective of cleaning gutters is to get rid of the dirt and leaves that have accumulated in them. And, how to clean gutters can be a problem that needs some planning. There are three ways in how to clean gutters.
Using a ladder to clean gutters

The most traditional way of cleaning gutters could be how to clean gutters by learning how to use a ladder. A ladder that fits up to the gutter without leaning on the gutter is the safest way to use a ladder to clean gutters.

One way to clean gutters is to always wear gloves when cleaning gutters as the accumulated dirt mixed with leaves can be wet, smelly and might be mixed with toxic wastes from roof run offs mixing with the dirt and the leaves. Use plenty of sturdy garbage bags to collect the waste and don’t overfill the garbage bags.

Cleaning gutters from the roof

A second way to clean gutters is to go out on the roof itself. That method works well for flat roofs or for industrial buildings that have gutters. When you walk on the roof, make sure that you have someone else with you just in case you slip. Choose shoes that have rubber heels and wear gloves. Carry a small trowel and scoop the wastes into garbage bags.

Using a leaf blower to clean out gutters

A third way on to clean gutters is to use a leaf blower. You will need to cover your face because the dirt will go flying out of the gutters, and you don’t want it going in your mouth. Some gardeners use that method of cleaning out gutters and sweep up the dirt and leaves on the ground. A leaf blower is good to use on a low lying roof gutter but might be a problem on a high roof.

Whichever method you use to clean gutters the tool on how to clean gutters and get rid of toxic waste build up is to flush your gutters with a hose. You can go up on a ladder and lay your hose in the gutter and let if run until the water runs clean. Or you can go from inside the house by reaching your gutters through an open window and pouring a few gallons of water in them.
The point on how to clean gutters is the reason why you clean gutters which is to keep them clear and not run the risk of clogged downspouts. Just don’t try to hose them before picking up the waste in them.

Camping and outdoor activities are a popular pastime for people from all walks of life, young or old, no matter your culture. You can go camping in a variety of climates and environments, and use a multitude of equipment to do so. Some people prefer to camp in a recreational vehicle, or a camper that has many amenities that we’re used to in everyday life. Other people prefer to rough the outdoors, with tents and sleeping bags, harking back to the olden days. However relaxing camping might be, though, equipment does get dirty, especially tents. They come in close contact with the elements more than anything else, besides yourself.

Depending on what type of material your tent is made of, it’s probably easiest to clean with soap and water. With the tent fully open, use warm water and gentle soap, like dish soap, and a rag or sponge. Run the water and soap all over the tent, paying special attention to the corners and creases, and under any flaps, or around zippers. Rinse with clean water when you’re through washing off dirt and debris, and air dry completely before folding the tent up for storage. This method works well on nylon and plastic tents, as well as some that might have cloth components. You can also lay the tent flat to clean, as well, though it will be harder to really see the areas that need to be cleaned.

If your tent is made of a heavy, durable material to endure the elements, it can probably handle a tougher sort of scrub. With the tent fully open and operational, instead of using a sponge or rag to wipe down the tent, try using a gentle scrub brush, like the kind used for dishes or autos. You can still use soap and water to clean the tent, and as before, make sure it’s completely dry before folding for storage; this will eliminate mold and smell when opened again.

Another quick option is to hose the tent down with a garden hose, or other type of jet spray. Simply turn the hose on the fully-opened tent, and wash away the grime that has accumulated on the tent. If you need to follow this with hand washing, that’s fine. Make sure the spray isn’t strong enough to damage the tent, and that no additional chemicals have been added to the washing soap mixture.

Cleaning a pool filter is not something fun to do, but there is no doubt that it is something that needs to be done. You can always take a very thorough vacuum to the filter in order to get all of the leaves out of there. You can also use a quality brush to get rid of the dirty and leaves as a part of the pool filter. The cleaning of the pool filter needs to be something that you take seriously while not criticizing yourself if you end up doing a poor job. You simply do not want the pool filter to cause any injuries, a surgery needed to fix those injuries could be quite expensive. You can always hire someone to clean your pool filters for you. This is where the concept of a pool boy came from. The concept of a pool boy was not just invented for Eva Langoria’s pleasure on Desperate Housewives. The same can be said for Evan Langoria of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

You can even uninstall your pool filters and run them through a sprinkler system. This is an unconventional method for you to clean your pool filters with. You can then go ahead and install your pool filters again in order to make sure your pool stays clean. You can buy a pool filter cleaner with synthetic fiberglass that will do an extreme good job of cleaning the filter given that the fiberglass with the mat attached picks up the dirt quite easily. The annoying thing about these filter cleaners is the fact that you also have to clean the synthetic fiberglass by rinsing it through water as well. The world needs to be clean, particularly when you are inviting numerous swimmers into your pool. You would be smart to allow your filters to dry in sunshine so they can get the proper nourishment. This is important because the sunlight has algaecidal aspects. The algaecidal properties return the filter to its regular, dry self within an hour or two.

You can even use cleaning products such as Sham Wow! in order to clean your pool filters. It may take several cleanings with the Sham Wow! products in order to see some real progress regarding the cleaning of your pool filters. If you use your pool quite often, say during the summer months you probably wants the process to move faster so I will not recommend using Sham Wow to clean the filters.

After you have decided it is time to your well out, it is now time to figure out how to do that exactly. You want it to pass a lab analysis..let alone have it be safe to drink from. Before you get started, you will want to get a pool cleaning kit, you can use this to retest the water to make sure that all the chlorine and chemicals are out. You will want to clean the entire well all at once, you cannot delay this project over time, that will allow the well to become contaminated. Be sure you have the time to dedicate to this project before beginning.

Cleaning out your well really is not all that complicated of a procedure. you will want to get a pool cleaning kit so you have the resources to test your water, to be sure that you get all the bleach, chlorine and anything else out that may be harmful to you. Really all that you will need to do, is take about a gallon of bleach, depending on the size of you well of course, and empty the gallon into your tank. After you have done that, you are going to turn your faucets on everything that has a water source in your home. Let it run til you no longer smell the bleach. Let the HOT water run, probably for about 30 minutes. Than you are going to let your tanks sit over night. DON’T USE ANY WATER. Make sure you have water supply to get you by until than. You can flush your toilets, just be cautioned that you could get bleach on your clothes, and we all know bleach doesn’t come out. Or on your sink, which can be harmful, obviously. By letting this sit overnight, you are just helping “sanitize”. In the morning, empty your hot water heater and turn off the refill valve until all of this is done. Take a regular hose, and clean out the tanks, be sure that it is being emptied somewhere safe to the environment…if possible. Once totally cleaned and emptied of the bleach water, refill.

Be sure through this process you are out there supervising, watch the pumps for overheating and do not leave anything unattended for long periods of time. Now after all the bleach is out, and you have tested the water, you now have a clean sparkling water supply. You may still want to install a water purification system to prevent from having to clean out your water well too often.

There must be dozens of ways to clean a concrete patio, but I am going to give three ways that I have found to be best. Not all concrete patios are created equal. Some may be more difficult to clean due to age and condition.

Pressure washing to clean a concrete patio

If you decide to do things an easier way, you may choose a pressure washer to clean your concrete patio. It seems it is not the pressure only that cleans the concrete, but also the product you use when pressure washing. If the concrete is stained with grease, you will need to use a degreaser. Apply this to the patio and allow it to sit for the recommended time listed on the package. Once you feel the degreaser has had time to work, use the pressure washer. You should be satisfied with the results if you are using a quality product. If you are not sure which product is best, consult with someone in a home improvement store, or check online for product reviews.

When you are trying to remove rust stains from a concrete patio, you must use a product that is designed to remove rust. Keep in mind different cleaning products promise different results.

Using elbow grease to clean a concrete patio

This is probably the way the previous generation would have cleaned a concrete patio. Use a scrub brush, your favorite laundry soap mixed in a bucket of water, and apply the mixture to all of the concrete that needs to be cleaned. Once you have covered the patio, allow the solution to sit for a few minutes so that grime and dirt is easier to remove. Rinse a small area, and scrub with the scrub brush. Yes, this is hard work, but you will be happy with the results.

Using a garden hose and bleach to clean a concrete patio

This is probably the least expensive, and least labor intensive ways to clean a concrete patio. Wet the entire area of concrete you want to clean. Pour bleach straight from the container onto the patio. Allow the bleach to sit for a few minutes, and you will notice the concrete beginning to look cleaner. After about fifteen minutes, rinse a small area of the concrete and determine if the bleach has worked it’s magic yet. Rinse thoroughly when complete. You should find your concrete patio is now several shades cleaner.

Depending on how much effort you want to put into it, one of these manners of cleaning a concrete patio should work for you. Once you have tried this you will see why those who do it for a living charge what they do!

Every now and then the average bird lover or home owner will notice that their bird bath has attained a dirty scum from birds. This scum although putrid, belongs to some of the most inquisitive creatures our planet has to offer. The bird bath itself will attract much more birds if it is fresh and pristine.

The first way to clean the bird bath is classic. Soap and water, everyone has heard this phrase in their child hood. If you want to get most of the scum off use hot water with a teaspoon of dish soap per 16 fluid ounces of water. Once this mix is achieved to the desired amount you can start scrubbing. From here you scrub and brush away at all the muck on the birth bath then rinse with cold water. The bird bath should then be rinsed with water to ensure that all soap bubbles are gone. If you leave the bird bath out to dry it will look much more fresh and clean when new water is put in.

The second way is to use a cleaning chemical, of which there are many. To clean a bird bath from it’s muck and scum you can buy an algae inhibitor and add it to the water in the bird bath. Follow the directions on the bottle. Be sure to replace the water every week or so with fresh water and add more algae inhibitor. Another chemical to use is bleach, scrub it to remove all the muck. Then rinse three times and add fresh water with half a cap of bleach mixed in it. The next recipe is one part Muriactic Acid to ten parts water. Muriactic acid can be found in your local hardware, Home Depot or Lowe’s store. It is relatively cheap at six to nine dollars a gallon When dealing with all of these chemicals make sure you wear eye and hand protection. For hands simple dish gloves will do, you do not need special laboratory gloves for these chemicals.

The third and final method uses brute force. This would be to use a pressure washer to literally blast away the scum particles. The setting used should be on medium with a wide nozzle for the bowl of the dish and a narrow nozzle used for the side walls.

After one or more of these procedures are done the bird bath should be washed with a stream of fresh water from a backyard garden hose for a minute or so. When that is done you can let the bird bath dry or immediately fill it back up with fresh water for birds to come by and decorate your yard.
