How to Clean a Weber Grill

How to Clean a Weber Grill

When it comes to cleaning a Weber Grill you should treat it just like any kind of household appliance. In essence it is. You cook on it just like you would a stove. The thing is the grill can collect material on it plus there is different maintenance that is required. The best way to keep a Weber Grill clean is to keep a routine cleaning system but if you are confronted with the task of cleaning one here are a few tips.

Weber Grill grates collect all kinds of food material on them. The first thing that you want to keep in mind is to make sure that the grate is hot when you go to clean it. This way the material that is on the grate is some what fresh and not dried and caked on it. Any kind of heavy towel with soap and water on it is perfect for cleaning. Once you have removed the material, rinse the grate in cold water then dry it off. The main thing is to make sure that the grill is hot so the food particles are not dried and hard.

As with any grill, rust can build up on a Weber Grill. Painting the grill will help give it an extra layer of protection especially if you store the grill outside. Another good idea is to get a grill cover. Take it off when you are using the grill then when the grill cools down put it right back on. The cover helps against moisture build up which is the catalyst for rust buildup.

The biggest no no when it comes to cleaning a Weber Grill is using any kind of brush or steel cleaner. They are just not necessary. These will scape up your steel grill and put unwanted marks on it. A simple solution of soap and water will suffice. There is no need for any kind of heavy duty cleaners. I would not want to use those kind of chemicals because you are risking the chance of it blending into your grill and the next time that you go and use it the chemical can contaminate the food that you are trying to cook.

The best tip as far as cleaning a Weber Grill is to clean it every month with a simple soap and water combination. If you use a routine cleaning system you will see that your Weber Grill will last a long time and you will be able to enjoy cookouts forever.
