How to Clean an iPhone Screen

How to Clean an iPhone Screen

As we all know we love our iPhones and their wonderful touch screens, but what you probably don’t love are the fingerprints and smudging that come with the territory. So if you have begun to wonder how to make your iPhone screen sparkle like new look no further.

First let’s start with the kitchen sink; all you need to clean your iPhone screen is water and a soft cloth. Any soft micro fiber cloth should do the trick, but it is recommended that you use the micro fiber cloth that came with your iPhone or you can purchase one at iPhone accessory retailers. Now to actually clean the touch screen you need to moisten the cloth with water. Do not over saturate the cloth because too much water can damage your phone. Wipe the touch screen gently and carefully to remove all the smudges and fingerprints. Your phone should now be smudge free. You can repeat the process as necessary.

Sitting at your desk and no cloth or water handy? Well here’s a cleaning tip that might be worth a shot. Tape! Yes that handy tape sitting on your desk might just do the trick, it apparently doesn’t just work on CSI; it removes fingerprints on iPhones too! Take a small piece of tape and place it across your touch screen, peel away and voila you have taken those pesky old fingerprints with it, continue down the length of the screen and it should be as good as new.

Now if the above aren’t working to your liking, there are various commercial cleaners marketed for cleaning iPhone screens, such as iKlear. iKlear is free of any harsh chemicals such as ammonia and alcohol and is also anti-static. It also comes with a handy micro fiber cloth and cost around $20. It is available through Apple and iPhone retailers.

Remember; never use any chemicals on your iphone touch screen. Using harsh chemicals can result in damaging the look and function of your touch screen. Sticking with the basics are the safest and most effective way to keep you iPhone looking and performing like new.
