How I Clean Nasty Jacuzzi Jets

How to Clean Jacuzzi Jets

Jacuzzi tubs are the epitome of luxury. Bathrooms that include them are the envy of the neighborhood. However, in order to keep your Jacuzzi tub in tip top shape, you must pay particular attention to keeping the jets clean. Properly maintaining your Jacuzzi tub jets will ensure that you get the most life and longevity out of your investment.

In order to properly maintain your Jacuzzi tub, here are a few tips on keeping the jacuzzi jets clean: The most important concept in Jacuzzi maintenance is to understand that the jets and pump system need to be cleaned monthly. Monthly maintenance can be performed at any point during the month, but no more than 30 days in between cleaning should elapse.

Step one: Fill the Jacuzzi tub to its fullest capacity with hot water. Using a thermometer, make sure that the water temperature is at least 140 degrees F. If your water heater thermostat is turned down to keep your utility bill lower, or to safeguard children from scalds, you should turn the thermostat up temporarily to ensure that you reach the proper water temperature for cleaning.

Step Two: Add one cup of regular chlorine bleach to the water, then add 1/8 dish detergent. Allow the filling water to agitate the mixture.

Step Three: Start the jets.

Step Four: Leave the jets on for fifteen to twenty minutes, allowing the mixture to circulate through the system and remove hard water deposits, lime scale, and other build up. Then drain the tub.

Step Five: Refill the tub with cold water and repeat the process, except this time do not add any cleaner. This will rinse the tub and flush the system, removing any harmful cleaners from the jets or pump. Once again, make sure that you allow the Jacuzzi system to run for fifteen to twenty minutes before shutting off and draining the rinse water to ensure thorough rinsing.

Step Six: After the jet cleaner has been thoroughly rinsed from the tub, clean the tub as usual. This will ensure complete removal of the bleach mixture from the surfaces that will come in contact with your skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.

Proper maintenance of your Jacuzzi tubs jets will ensure that you tub will provide you with high quality service and enjoyment for many years to come. Make sure that you put monthly jacuzzi jet cleaning on your calendar to ensure that the task is performed regularly.
